MAR 10 HUNSTANTON WATERSPORTS
Anyone near the front in Hunstanton will have seen the magnificent spectacle of the windsurfers and kite surfers on the water at the North Promenade. Truly a year-round sport, they bring colour and excitement to our shoreline most days of the year.
At a time when many seaside businesses are taking a winter break, Hunstanton Watersports has already started its 2010 season of kitesurfing lessons available as one to one tuition or in groups. Although most lessons start at Easter, even in early February, with the right equipment the great outdoors and temperatures of 4 degrees C can be enjoyed!
Formerly operating from the North Promenade, Hunstanton Watersports has expanded its business and now has a retail shop which is situated at the corner of the Market Car Park. With a large retail space, the product range on offer is wide and all ages, abilities and budgets are catered for. Friendly, expert advice is on hand too from the two Steves so if you want an entry-level Flexifoil power kite, a kayak, wetsuit, surf board, beach clothing or any equipment for watersports, this is the place to shop.
All the instructors at Hunstanton Watersports are fully qualified and lessons are available for several disciplines including kite surfing, wind surfing, power kiting and kayaking. Land-based ‘paper work’ lessons are completed indoors at their coffee bar within the store.
Open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm the major brands on sale include: Mystic, Nash, O’Neill, Slingshot, Flexifoil, Best, F One and Protest. Kite repairs are also undertaken at the shop, and there is currently a clothing sale on.
Once again Hunstanton Watersports will be participating in the Lifestyles event this summer and they are also working with Smithdon school on windsurfing tuition for students.
