MAR 10 TITCHWELL TOPS FOR BIRDS, VISITORS...
...AND VOLUNTEERS
By Paul Roney, Visitor Centre manager
Big skies, a fabulous sandy beach, bird filled reed bed and marshes are just a few of nature’s gems tucked away inside Titchwell’s treasure trove of delights. It is not just birds and visitors that find Titchwell Marsh attractive; we are also a major site for RSPB volunteers as well!
Over forty volunteers of all ages and backgrounds help at the reserve. You don’t have to be a bird expert to volunteer because we can give you any training that you might need.
Two of the most volunteer-hungry areas of the reserve are the shop and information desk. Helen Lodge is typical of the shop volunteers. Helen started volunteering on the reserve almost five years ago “I now spend two days a week serving in the shop or on the information desk and really look forward to helping visitors make the most of their visit and sharing a joke with my new colleagues”
Centre manager Paul Roney, says “Whatever your experience in life we can probably make good use of your skills, you certainly don’t have to be a bird expert and we can give you all the training you need.”
If you have a few hours a week to spare and are interested in volunteering at the reserve then why not give us a call on 01485 211971?
