FEB 10 HUNSTANTON CATHOLIC PARISH

(Church of Our Lady and St Edmund, Sandringham Road, with St Cecilia’s, Dersingham)

The icy weather meant that our Christmas midnight services were not quite as full as in previous years, but all those who were able to attend were in good voice and pleased to take part in so joyful a celebration. On Boxing Day, the feast of St Stephen, our altar servers renewed their Guild promises at a special Mass in the church at Hunstanton. This was followed by a party for those present – a suitable appreciation of the service given by these young people throughout the year.

Everyone who visited either of our churches over the Christmas period was impressed by the beautiful decorations and floral arrangements – a testament to the expertise and hard work of all those engaged in producing them.

Earlier in December, members of the parish met for lunch at Heacham Manor. This was a ‘first’ for the parish, and a very successful occasion which we hope to repeat.

At the time of writing, we are looking forward to the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which takes place from 18th-25th January. It is always good to join other Christians in the area in prayer at their various churches, and to welcome them to our church and to the Convent in Sandringham Road.

We are a friendly and outgoing parish, and are always happy to welcome visitors to our services, whether they are visiting the parish from elsewhere, or live in the area. Refreshments are served after the 11am Mass every Sunday at the church in Hunstanton, and after the 9am Mass at Dersingham on the first Sunday of the month. We also have a friendly and informal gathering after the 10.15 Mass at Dersingham on Wednesdays. Do come and visit – we’d love to see you. Contact: Tricia Steel at CLOAKING .
