 This year has all but closed, and what a year we’ve had. At the time of writing this we are extremely busy setting up our “Christmas Grotto” and “Craft Fair”, and will report on these in the next edition of this Newsletter.       

Our newest venture, “Turkey & Tinsel” has just ended. This week we treated the senior citizens in our area to a three course Christmas Lunch at the very low cost of £3.00 per head. We had a splendid turnout every day, and hope that they all enjoyed themselves as much as we did. We have many people to thank for helping this event run smoothly. Now everyone has heard of “Mars Bars”, but did you realise that many of Mars employees give up their time and energy, either on duty or off to help in their local area, and we were lucky enough to have a team from “Mars in the Community” to help out at our event. These splendid people turned up every day and really worked hard for a few hours serving, clearing up, and making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Thank you so much “Mars in the Community”. Of course we also have to thank Nick, Sam and Amy Fox of “The Green Lodge Restaurant” for supplying a really lovely lunch of Fresh Vegetable Soup, Roast Turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas Pudding, and a special thanks to the one man “Alan Smith Trio” !!! who came along to give a musical edge to the proceedings. There were also many ladies who turned up to help us, and we thank all of them.

Also since the last Newsletter was published we had our usual tour of the pubs and clubs in our area for “Children in Need”. Despite the financial climate we raised over £1000.00 this year. This is a fantastic result, so thank you all for giving so freely to this really worthy cause.

Our “Tombola” stall at the Hunstanton “Christmas Cracker” lighting up afternoon also rewarded us with extra funds for our work.

In the New Year we will be letting you know of what we will be doing during 2010, and giving details of how the money we have raised has been spent, and as ever if you know of anyone or organisation who we may be able to help, we really would like to hear from you.
