Sharing a lunch, and learning about The Norfolk Hospice

We were delighted to welcome a record number of visitors from the wider community, including many of the other Christian churches in the area, to the parish Ladies’ Lunch on November 14th.  As always, the food was excellent, and we were able to taste and share a wide variety of delicious contributions to our meal.

We were very fortunate to have Janet Doyle, Chief Executive of The Norfolk Hospice, Tapping House, as our speaker.  Janet inspired us all with her enthusiasm for palliative care and her vision of a full service hospice in this area of Norfolk. She explained that the Hospice works to ensure its patients can live life to the full for whatever time is left and to provide peace, respect and dignity to the very end of life. We also learned that it is widely recognised that our community desperately needs a full-service hospice, and Janet outlined the plans to create such a facility, and the Capital Campaign which is in operation to enable this to be achieved. We really appreciated her taking the time to speak to us, and thanked her with a floral arrangement and donated the proceeds of the raffle to the Hospice.
