NOV 09 1ST HUNSTANTON GUIDES

By Hilary Letch

1st Hunstanton Guides had a 'Knit and Natter' night on Tuesday 13th October, and invited ladies from the local Union Church, friends and family and also the Trefoil Guild (ladies who have been and still are involved in Guiding.)

It was a fantastic success, with 15 ladies coming to help teach our 22 girls to knit. (even the left handed ones!) We had tea and biscuits, as well as a great laugh playing a ball game together at the end of the evening. Guiding celebrates it's 100 year anniversary over 2009-2010 and one of our projects here in Hunstanton is to make a Centenary blanket to hang on our wall at Head Quarters to remind us how the Guiding movement continues to be so influential here.

Knitting the squares is just the start and we have more evenings planned to really make our project work. We'll be really proud to show you the finished article in the new year.

If you would like to get involved or could donate some wool, needles or even knit some squares for us, please call Hilary Letch on 01485 533631
