Sadly the ‘Car Boot Season’ is coming to an end, our last one being on Sunday 25th October. At the time of writing we have only lost one due to bad weather otherwise what a tremendous success the boot sales have been

              It has been enjoyable working with the Hunstanton Lions and this has enabled us to hold car boots more regularly. A big thank you from myself and everyone at Glebe as you’ve helped us raise money and hopefully using the school you’ve also helped all the worthy causes you support. I am pleased to say the Lions will be returning for 2010 when we start again at Easter.

I do get asked what Glebe is raising funds for and the answer is that we are endeavouring to lay an all-weather Astro Turf pitch at the school which will be available for all children who love sport in the area. What a brilliant local facility to have here in Hunstanton.

The car boots have been fun and I’ve acquired many nicknames over the summer like ‘Shorts’ and ‘Blondie’ not to mention the regular question of “are you the gym mistress?” I also get asked what I’m going to do over the winter as I won’t be running round the field chasing cars  -  well that’s simple, organising the Christmas Fair!

Our very successful and popular Christmas Fair will be held at the school on Friday 20th November 10am-4pm. Admission and parking are free and there is a café serving hot drinks and home-made cakes. The raffle this year shall be in aid if ‘Help for Heroes’ and there will be many stalls offering a selection of gift ideas for Christmas to suit all budgets. More details in November’s Newsletter.

Finally, thank you again Lions (less tea drinking next year boys!) and thank you ‘booters’ and the public who without your support the car boots would not be a success.
