The three Organ Recitals during August were very well attended and the standard of playing was very high. The three recitalists, David Dunnett, David Ivory and Dr. Roy Massey provided varied programmes which included ‘The flight of the Bumble-Bee’by Rimsky-Korsakov, ‘The Dancing Years’by Ivor Novello, and ‘Three pieces for a musical clock’ by Haydn. Once again it was disappointing to see so few people from the Saxon Shore Benefice but hopefully this situation will improve in the future. I would like to thank The Glebe House School for the posters and programmes and also for providing the ‘Big Screen’ so that the audience could see the Organist playing. This was a new venture which hopefully will be repeated next year. Thanks also to those who have advertised the concerts and those who have helped in any way with the refreshments. After expenses, the sum of £ 630.00 was raised for the Organ Fund.
