SEP 09 YET MORE WOLVES IN HUNSTANTON

By John Smith

Congratulations to all those concerned with the two “In Bloom” competitions – let’s hope for some more medals! I was especially pleased to have had the opportunity to meet the two judges from the Royal Horticultural Society and to give them some background information about St. Edmund’s landing, the Chapel and especially the new wolf sculpture set in a new garden in the chapel ruins.

This garden was planted especially for the “In Bloom” competitions as part of a project initiated by Sheena Carmen, the Arts Development Officer from BCKLWN, together with the pupils of Years 4 and 6, from Redgate School. The superb wolf guarding St. Edmund’s head was a sedum sculpture designed by artist Jean Mulligan.

Also on display at the Coal Shed Gallery was a wall hanging depicting the wolf and St. Edmund and a decorated folder with paintings by the pupils of Redgate School depicting the life of St. Edmund, a project organised by their teacher Karin Forman.
