SEP 09 LAVENDER HILL MOB THEATRE COMPANY
By Sandra Hohol
Amanda Holden – yes Amanda Holden from Britain’s Got Talent – opened Sedgeford Village Fete a few week’s ago and willingly posed for photos and gave autographs after the opening ceremony. She was enthralled with our youngsters as they performed original songs, some using sign language. I chatted with her briefly and she also posed with the LH group later during the afternoon. Her daughter, Lexi was totally enjoying herself splashing our eldest member (81) with sponges with his head in the stocks by the side of our stall!! (Photos on the website!). So, many thanks to Amanda (what a charming lady!) and to Pat Dawson for organising such a lovely day, and for Amanda and Lexi to visit our youngsters.
The weather has been very kind to fetes and special events this year making up for last summer when we had two days with sunshine and the rest with blustery wind and rain. However this did not stop us! We all battle on come rain or shine, no matter what is thrown at us!
As the school holidays are drawing to an end and the fete and events season will soon be at a close, I would like to thank parents and helpers who contributed to helping on the stalls and by donating Tombola prizes. Your ongoing help is much appreciated.
Does anyone know a Choreographer or someone who is an experienced dancer with a wide imagination and innovation who can teach dance and movement, but must be committed to Monday evenings in Hunstanton from 5 – 8pm? (Show rehearsals will require further evenings). They must be willing to join us on a voluntary basis and understand that our sessions are informal and friendly with children from age 4 to adults, all who have varying capabilities. Maybe a college student who would like to utilise their experience outside the college? Please contact me for further info.
Please do not forget the next show ‘Something for Everyone’ at the Princess Theatre, Hunstanton on 5 – 8 November with both matinees and evening performances. Tickets on sale at the Box Office – tel; 01485 532252. There may be special guests, surprises, old and new jokes, drama and songs, but most of all fun and laughter for all the family! I am not telling you any more – you will have to come and see for yourself!
Aged 4 upwards, we operate an ‘Inclusive’ group with no auditions. All capabilities and abilities, disabilities and backgrounds – no matter what – all are welcome. Dance sessions on Mondays, 5 – 8pm, Workshops for all on Tuesdays, 5 – 7pm and Writing/Devising/workshops plus learning all aspects of theatre on Weds, 5 – 8pm.
