SEP 09 BACK ON LINE IN HUNSTANTON
By Chris Pope
Great news for anyone who has felt at a loss since the closure of the CoWA Hunstanton Learning Centre left the town without any IT training opportunities for adults. Norfolk County Council’s Adult Education Service has allocated a brand new set of wireless laptops for the specific purpose of delivering IT training courses to adults in Hunstanton and the surrounding villages.
Starting initially with a six-week “Computers – PC Starter Skills” Course from 7 to 9pm on Monday evenings, starting on 14th September, Adult Education is looking forward to putting on many more Courses to meet local IT learning needs, as long as there is sufficient demand for the training.
Places are limited to 10 per Course and this Course already had two people signed up to it as at 27th July, so, if you want a place, you need to phone the Adult Education Customer Service Centre on 0344 800 8002 and quote code: SA160W9L
It’s the same 0344 number people need for information about other Courses or to enrol.
So-o-o-o, what else does Adult Education have to offer people in and around Hunstanton this Autumn?
Well, there are dance lessons at Glebe House School – with Rumba, Salsa, Foxtrot and Waltz starting in September and Quickstep, Tango, Cha Cha Cha and Jive following on from that in November.
There are also English Skills and British Sign Language (Level 1) Courses on offer, as well as a Lipreading Course (for those with acquired hearing loss).
Anybody who wants to learn something which doesn’t seem to be currently on offer should contact Chris Pope Community Development Worker (West Norfolk) by email on CLOAKING or in writing to Chris Pope, NCC Adult Education, West Norfolk PDC, Kilham’s Way, KING’S LYNN, PE30 2HU
